Using the AFI’s (American Film Institute) classic film making project, “The Door Scene” as a springboard, students in Digital I were challenged to conceive, storyboard, shoot, and edit a short movie. The movies were required to feature someone interacting with a door. Good films employed visual storytelling techniques comprised of varied shots, camera angles, editing and sound to engage viewers, develop and increase anticipation, and hopefully come at an unexpected or satisfying conclusion.
